Topic: Library goes inside out for summer

Topic type:

Hamilton Central Library made the most of the summer sun and took its summer storytime sessions outside for January 2010.

Hamilton Central Library turned itself inside out to create some holiday fun for kids. The library's summer holiday programme "Inside Out" aimed to make the most of the summer weather by heading out into Garden Place for story-time and craft activities.

The programme ran during January on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Librarians would read a story, then the kids got to a craft related to that story. There was everything from meatball mobiles to monster masks and Dr Seuss hats.

Inside Out was part of the Hamilton City Council's push to utilise Garden Place more during summer. Under the shade of the Hamilton gazebo, Garden Place made a wonderful venue for Inside Out.
