Topic: Caistor Street

Topic type:

Caistor Street was named after a World War Two RAF Aerodrome in Lincolnshire, England.

Caistor Street is located in Hamilton, New Zealand, in a small group of streets including Hendon Road, Northolt Road and Reeves Close. The group is south of Powells Road which separates it from Fairview Downs - they are not a part of Fairview Downs which was developed and named by another firm under the ownership of Alf Steele. Caistor Street was named in 1962 by D.M. McKenzie, the owner of the property and developer of the subdivision. He named it after RAF Caistor an aerodrome in Lincolnshire, England where he served during the World War Two. (HCL)
