Topic: Bailey Avenue
It is speculated that Bailey Avenue was named after John Powell Bailey, a Waikato County Councillor, but there is no documentary evidence to support that theory.
Bailey Avenue is a street in the Hamitlon, New Zealand suburb of Claudelands. Bailey Avenue was named by LM & LP Roach, the owners of the property. There is no documentary evidence to indicate why they named this street Bailey Avenue, but it is speculated that they named it after John Powell Bailey, a Waikato County Councillor in 1901-2.
