There is no documentary evidence to indicate why this street was named, but it is assumed that it is named after Captain WHC Tisdall, adjutant, 2nd Waikato Regiment.
Tisdall Street is a 1864 Crown Grant in Hamilton, New Zealand. This Street was named by Hamilton civic leaders, surveyors and citizens. (HBC). There is no documentary evidence to indicate why this street was named, but we can assume it is named after Captain WHC Tisdall, adjutant, 2nd Waikato Regiment. (HCL)
Tisdall Terrace runs right along side Tisdall Street and there is no information available on why or who named this street.
