Queens Avenue

Queens Avenue is located in the Hamilton, New Zealand suburb of Frankton.  It was named in 1917 by the Jolly family, the owners of the property.  This property was later sold to NZ Railways.  There is no documentary evidence to indicate why this street was named Queens Avenue, but it was probably named after the WWI empire line.  (HCC) (HCL) (Lands & Surveys)
