Wingate Street

Wingate Street is located in the Hamilton, New Zealand suburb of Bader.  It was named in 1954 by the Housing Corporation and Hamilton City Council.  They named the streets in this area after World War II heroes.  Wingate Street was named after Charles Orde Wingate, a British army officer, leader of the "chindits" who harassed the Japanese in WWII.
