Wilson Street was probably named after Eben Wilson.

Wilson Street

Wilson Street is located in the Hamilton, New Zealand suburb of Hamilton East.  It was named in 1923 by Lovegrove and Waters, the owners of the property.  There is no documentary evidence to indicate why this street was named Wilson Street, but it was probably named after Eben Wilson, former headmaster  and founder of Hamilton High School.  (HCC) (HCL) (Lands & Surveys)
