Tramway Road got its name because of a tramway that used to be in the vicinity.

Tramway Road 

Tramway Road is located in the Hamilton, New Zealand suburb of Fairview Downs.  It was a crown grant and named c. 1890 - 1900 by civic leaders, surveyors and citizens.  Tramway Road got its name because there was a tramway in the vicinity when it was named.  (HBC) (HCL) (Lands & Surveys)
