Queens Avenue

Queens Avenue is located in the Hamilton, New Zealand suburb of Frankton.  It was named in 1917 by the Jolly family, the property was later sold to New Zealand Railways.  There is no documentary evidence to indicate why this street was named Queens Avenue, but the theme of street names in the area follows WWI empire line.  Queens Avenue was probably named after royalty.  (HCC) (HCL) (Lands & Surveys)
