Henry Herbert Howden.


Born in Auckland in 1868 to jeweller James Howden and his wife Rhoda, HH Howden established his own jewellery business in Hamilton in 1889. He served on the Hamilton Borough Council for 20 years and was a chairman of directors of Hamilton Theatres Ltd. and of James Pomeroy and Co. Ltd. He was a life member of the Hamilton Bowling Club and a Freemason and donated competition trophies to various athletics organisations.
